Dhurandhar 2 is creating huge buzz about different 'peak detailing' and story buildup.

Many characters in Dhurandhar 2 are inspired by real people. One such character is Pinda, whose real-life inspiration is Harwinder Singh Sandhu, also known as Rinda.

In the film, Ranveer Singh plays Jaskirat Singh Rangi. His identity as a death row convict is revealed after he kills Rehman Dakait. Before entering the crime world in Pakistan, Jaskirat wanted to join the Indian Army. His life changes after a traumatic incident. Before going to jail, he asks his childhood friend Pinda to take care of his family.

Who is Pinda in real life?

As per reports, Pinda’s character is based on Harwinder Singh Sandhu, also known as Rinda. He was from Punjab and was later listed as a terrorist by the government. He was linked to Babbar Khalsa International and reportedly worked with groups based in Pakistan.

Before moving to Pakistan, Rinda was involved in several criminal activities like murder, robbery, extortion and smuggling across multiple Indian states. Reports say he later lived in Lahore and was involved in arms and drug smuggling. In 2022, he was declared dead due to an alleged drug overdose.

In Dhurandhar 2, Pinda, also called Gurbaaz Singh, is Jaskirat’s childhood friend. The role is played by Udaybir Sandhu. The actor changed his body weight by 15 kg to play both a young and an older version of the character.

What happens to Pinda in the film?

In the film, Pinda meets Jaskirat after many years and recognises him. The two come face to face during an event attended by Pakistani officials. Pinda gives drugs to Jaskirat, and the two get into a fight in a bathroom.

During the fight, Pinda is killed. Later in the story, his death is shown as being caused by a drug overdose.
