Barcelona produced a sensational performance to beat Newcastle United 7-2 in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 clash, sealing an emphatic 8-3 aggregate victory. After a tense 1-1 draw in the first leg, the Spanish side turned on the style at home, overwhelming Newcastle with relentless attacking football and clinical finishing.

First half sets the tone

The match began at a high pace, with both teams trading blows early on. Raphinha opened the scoring for Barcelona, but Newcastle responded quickly through Anthony Elanga. The game remained open and exciting, with Marc Bernal restoring Barcelona’s lead before Elanga struck again to level things. However, just before halftime, Lamine Yamal converted a penalty to give Barcelona a 3-2 advantage going into the break. It was a chaotic and entertaining first half, but it also hinted at Barcelona’s growing control.
