Ranveer Singh, now creating buzz for the Dhurandhar 2, is going to submit a written apology in court over the Kantara mimicry incident at the IFFI 2025 closing ceremony.
He is currently celebrating the success of Dhurandhar: The Revenge. After facing criticism for his earlier social media apology, he will also visit Chamundi Temple in Mysuru to apologise in person, as stated by the actor`s lawyer.

Court apology and temple visit
According to NDTV reports, Ranveer Singh will file an affidavit offering an “unconditional apology” for his actions at IFFI 2025. The affidavit is expected to be submitted on April 10. He will also visit Chamundi Temple in Mysuru to apologize in person and show respect for people’s feelings.
Background of the controversy
During the IFFI session, Ranveer imitated a scene from the popular Chaudi moment in Kantara. He referred to the character as a “female ghost,” crossed his eyes, stuck out his tongue, and added his own “primordial scream,” while Rishab Shetty laughed beside him. He also joked, asking if anyone wanted to see him in Kantara 3, pointing at Shetty. The clip quickly went viral on social media and triggered criticism.

Ranveer initially posted an apology on Instagram Stories, stating his intention was to highlight Rishab Shetty’s performance and that he respected every cultural tradition in India. He wrote, “My intention was to highlight Rishabh Shetty’s incredible performance in the film. Actor to actor, I know how much it would take to perform that particular scene in the way he did, for which he has my utmost admiration.” He further clarified, “I have always deeply respected every cultural tradition and belief in our country. If I’ve hurt anyone’s sentiments, I sincerely apologise."
