The Delhi High Court has scheduled an urgent hearing on March 15 for multiple habeas corpus petitions related to the alleged unlawful detention of a student by the Delhi Police. The matter was brought before Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyay, who agreed to list the petitions for hearing the next day at 12 noon.
The case will be heard by a division bench comprising Justices Navin Chawla and Ravinder Dudeja. The petitions seek the production of individuals who are allegedly being held illegally by the police.
Petition filed over missing student
According to HT, one of the petitions was filed by advocate Deeksha Dwivedi on behalf of Sagrika Rajora. The plea states that her sister, 22-year-old Lakshita Rajora, also known as Badal, has been missing since the evening of March 13. The petitioner suspects that Lakshita may have been detained by the Special Cell of Delhi Police. According to the petition, Lakshita was last seen at a student organisation office in Vijay Nagar near Delhi Universityās North Campus. The plea has requested the court to direct authorities to produce her before the court and to clarify her whereabouts.
