The harsh sunlight streaming through the window gaps in the morning signals that the mercury is gradually rising in the skies of South Bengal. According to the weather department, the winter atmosphere survives only nominally during dawn and evening. As the day progresses, sweaters cannot be kept on.

The weather office has reported that there will be no significant change in temperature over the next few days. While South Bengal's temperature is rising, the weather remains pleasant in the hills of North Bengal.

The weather office has reported a strong possibility of snowfall in Darjeeling by the end of the week due to the impact of twin western disturbances.

On Tuesday, Kolkata's minimum temperature was 16.1 degrees Celsius. On Monday, the city's minimum temperature was 15.6 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature was 26.6 degrees Celsius. Due to high humidity in the air, city residents may experience light perspiration as the day progresses.

The weather office forecast indicates no likelihood of any significant change in Kolkata's temperature over the next week. Additionally, the intensity of fog will decrease in South Bengal districts, including Kolkata.

The weather department forecasts a strong possibility of light snowfall in the high mountainous areas of Darjeeling between Thursday and Saturday.

The weather department has reported that successive western disturbances have started entering northwest India. Additionally, western disturbances have become newly active in Jammu and Kashmir and adjacent areas. Consequently, the weather department has issued rain alerts for Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand.
