Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (SRFTI) signed an MOU agreement with Visva-Bharati. Students of Sangit Bhavan and the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication will particularly benefit from this special agreement.

The main objective of this agreement is to open a new horizon in the bond between cinema and culture. On Wednesday, Visva-Bharati authorities signed the MOU with SRFTI at a program organised in the central library of Visva-Bharati. The day's program was attended by Visva-Bharati Vice-Chancellor Prabir Kumar Ghosh, SRFTI Vice-Chancellor Samiran Datta, and several other distinguished personalities.

According to Visva-Bharati sources, SRFTI will provide training on how to present dance, music, dance-drama, or musical drama more beautifully through audio-visual media. Additionally, journalism department students will receive hands-on education in multiple technical subjects, including camera, lighting, and sound recording, in the university's state-of-the-art studio.

As a result, a wonderful fusion of Santiniketan's indigenous culture with modern cinema technology is expected to occur, according to a section of the university.

Plans have been made to launch a special course in filmmaking at Visva-Bharati in collaboration with SRFTI in the coming days. The joint initiative of the two educational institutions will make students' entry into the professional world easier.

Visva-Bharati Vice-Chancellor Prabir Kumar Ghosh said, "As a result of signing this MOU, our students will be able to learn new things. This will make their path to employment smoother. At the same time, this state-of-the-art studio will also be rented out." SRFTI Vice-Chancellor Samiran Datta said, "We provide training in filmmaking. As a result of this agreement, just as Visva-Bharati students will receive our assistance, we too will be able to learn from Visva-Bharati."
