A simple doctor visit turned into a Bollywood moment. Dr Sunny Ashok was called to treat Arjun Rampal on set on July 8, 2025 in Ludhiana. The incident happened during a shoot in Ludhiana.
After treatment, he asked Ranveer Singh for a photo. What followed was completely unexpected. Within days, he became part of the film.
From treatment to film role
According to The Tribune, Dr Ashok recalled, “There was panic as it seemed Arjun would need scans and hospitalisation.”
He added, “However, the injury was not serious. I checked his reflexes. All were happy that he was okay.”
Who is Dr Sunny Ashok?
According to The Tribune, Dr Sunny Ashok is a government doctor posted at a health centre in Kalakh village, Ludhiana.
He was called to treat Arjun Rampal after the actor got injured during a shoot near a railway track. There was panic on set as people thought the injury might be serious.
Dr Ashok later said, “However, the injury was not serious. Thankfully, it wasn’t serious, and everyone breathed a sigh of relief.”

Ranveer Singh’s surprise promise
Dr Ashok said, “I asked Ranveer for a photo, at which he put his arm around my shoulder and said, ‘Brother, why just a photo? We will take you in the movie.’”
He added, “I thought he was joking.”
Three days later, on July 11, the film team called Dr Ashok again to the shoot at Shahnewal Airport. He went there as usual and just wanted to take a photo with Ranveer Singh. But things changed when Ranveer casually offered him a role in the film. What he thought was a joke soon turned real, as he was actually cast in a scene.

A real doctor, real acting moment
The director quickly agreed and gave him a small role. According to The Tribune, Dr Ashok said, “That’s my scene in the movie, though it is a split second.”
He shared, “Dhar congratulated me for acting natural, saying I never looked into the camera and behaved exactly as a doctor would.”
Talking about the stars, he added, “All the film crew and especially Ranveer and Arjun Rampal were very down-to-earth and friendly.”
