Two prominent colleges under Delhi University (DU), Ramjas College and Miranda House, were evacuated on Monday morning after receiving bomb threat emails, Hindustan Times reported citing Delhi Police.
Emergency response teams, including bomb disposal squads and dog units, were immediately deployed to both campuses. Authorities are currently conducting thorough searches of the premises. No further details have been confirmed so far.
The incident prompted swift action from law enforcement agencies, with security tightened in and around the campuses. Students and staff were evacuated as a precaution while search operations continued.

Officials are yet to determine the source or credibility of the threat, and investigations are underway.
Similar threats reported recently
The latest development comes days after a bomb threat email was sent to the Delhi mayor's office last week. That alert was later declared a hoax, but it led to extensive checks by personnel from Kamla Market police station along with bomb disposal teams.
Reportedly on Monday morning, multiple institutions in Chandigarh and parts of Punjab, including schools, the Punjab and Haryana secretariat, and the Ferozepur district court, also received similar threat emails. These messages were reportedly sent by a group identifying itself as Khalistan National Army, triggering evacuations and security sweeps.
Rise in hoax threat cases
Authorities have noted a sharp rise in such incidents over the past year. Earlier this month, Delhi Police arrested a 47-year-old man from Mysuru, identified as Srinivas Louis, for allegedly sending over 1,100 fake bomb threat messages across the country.
The threats targeted schools, high courts and government offices, leading to repeated evacuations and disruptions.

"These threats had led to heightened security measures, evacuations and disruption of normal functioning at several institutions. In one such instance, a judge of the Delhi High Court had also lodged a formal complaint after receiving a threat email," an officer said.
Investigations into the latest threats are ongoing.
