Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Gujarat on Tuesday, March 31, marking Mahavir Jayanti with a packed schedule spanning culture, infrastructure, semiconductors, and rural development. During the visit, he inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for projects worth over ₹20,000 crore across multiple locations.
In a post on X a day earlier, the Prime Minister said he would participate in programmes in Gandhinagar, Sanand, and Vav-Tharad, covering sectors such as culture, infrastructure, health, and more.

Samrat Samprati Museum inauguration
At around 10 AM, the Prime Minister was scheduled to inaugurate the Samrat Samprati Museum located in Koba Tirth in Gandhinagar. The museum is named after a grandson of Emperor Ashoka named Samrat Samprati, who is credited with propagating the cause of non-violence and spreading the teachings of Jainism.

The museum is situated inside the campus of Mahavir Jain Aradhana Kendra and houses seven different wings of the museum depicting different facets of Indian civilizational and spiritual history. The museum will have rare Jain antiquities and relics such as stone and metal idols of gods and goddesses, Tirth Patta and Yantra Patta, miniature paintings, ancient manuscripts, coins, and silver chariots.

Semiconductor plant at Sanand
PM Modi also inaugurated the Kaynes Semicon Plant located in Sanand GIDC, Ahmedabad. The plant will start its commercial operations, with initial production dedicated to the manufacture of high-end Intelligent Power Modules. These are used in various applications where efficient power management is required.
As reported by ANI, the Kaynes Semicon Plant is the second semiconductor unit to start its commercial operations as part of the government's program, following Micron Technology.
Later in the day, the Prime Minister is also scheduled to visit Vav-Tharad, where he will launch and dedicate various development projects worth more than ₹20,000 crore.
The significant projects include the inauguration of the Ahmedabad-Dholera Expressway, which is an access-controlled highway developed at a cost of more than ₹5,100 crore. He will also lay the foundation stone for the construction of a four-lane bypass on the Idar-Badoli road and the upgradation of a part of NH-754K into a two-lane paved shoulder road.
Rail and water connectivity projects
In the rail sector, PM Modi will dedicate to the nation the Kanalus-Jamnagar doubling project, along with the quadrupling of the Gandhidham-Adipur section. He will also inaugurate a new train service connecting Khedbrahma, Himmatnagar, and Asarwa, along with the gauge conversion work on the Himmatnagar-Khedbrahma project.
PM Modi will also dedicate to the nation two significant water pipeline projects worth ₹1,780 crore, which include the Kasara-Dantiwada water pipeline project in Banaskantha, as well as the Dindrol-Mukteshwar water pipeline project in Patan and Banaskantha districts.
