"There is also a link of poor sleep to serious conditions like heart disease. Blood pressure levels may rise, increasing the risk of long-term complications," explains Sengupta.
Short naps can restore body and mind
In this situation, short naps can help. A nap of 20 to 30 minutes can refresh the mind. It improves alertness and boosts energy levels. Many professionals use short naps to stay productive during the day, as is seen in South Asian countries like Japan or South Korea.
Naps also help reduce stress. They give the brain time to relax and recover. This improves mood and overall well-being. However, it is not advisable to nap for too long, as it may affect your nighttime deep sleep.
