OpenAI has introduced a new feature for ChatGPT users. It is called the “Library” feature. This lets users store personal files and images and the files are saved on OpenAI’s cloud storage.
It is available for paid users only and the rollout is happening globally with some exceptions.

What is ChatGPT Library?
According to Bleeping Computer, users noticed the feature automatically appear. One user said, “I refreshed the ChatGPT web, and the library automatically showed up on the sidebar. To my surprise, it's actually not empty, as ChatGPT has already saved some of the files I uploaded in the last two weeks.”
It added, “Turns out it's an expected behaviour. By default, GPT will save your uploaded files in a dedicated, secure location, and they can be used for reference in a future chat.”
How does it work?
OpenAI explained, “ChatGPT automatically saves uploaded and created files, including files uploaded in chats (for example: documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and images) in a dedicated, secure location so they can be easily accessed later.”
Users can upload files through the attachment option and access them anytime. Images generated by AI will still appear in the Images tab, not in Library.

How to upload and delete files
You can upload files by opening the attachment or add button and selecting “Add from library,” then choosing your file.
ChatGPT automatically saves all uploaded and created files in a secure place for easy access later. These files stay in your account until you delete them manually. Even if you delete a chat, the files will still remain in the Library.
To delete a file, go to the Library tab and select the file you want to remove. Click delete or the trash icon, and it will be removed from servers within 30 days. The new Library feature makes ChatGPT more useful by keeping all your files in one place for easy access anytime.
