A cyclonic circulation has developed over Bangladesh and adjoining areas, bringing a large amount of moisture into the atmosphere. Under its influence, conditions have formed for rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms across several parts of West Bengal.

According to the latest update from the weather department, the sky across the state will remain partly to occasionally overcast throughout the day. Meteorologists have predicted heavy rainfall in several districts of North Bengal over the next few days, while scattered light to moderate showers may also occur in South Bengal until Tuesday. Rainfall is also possible in Kolkata.

Weather department records show that Kolkata’s minimum temperature on Saturday was 25.6 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature reached 33.0 degrees Celsius. Experts believe that the cloudy conditions will prevent any major change in daytime temperatures on Sunday. However, night temperatures may rise slightly compared to Saturday. Humid and sultry conditions are likely to persist for most of the day, though brief thunderstorms and light rain may occur after the afternoon.
