The West Bengal government’s WBIFMS (West Bengal Integrated Financial Management System) portal has reportedly stopped working due to server issues. The portal, which is widely used by government employees, has not been opening since Friday morning, causing disruptions in several important online services.
The outage has come at a critical time as the financial year is nearing its end, leading to delays in many official tasks. Government employees have expressed concern as several financial and administrative processes depend on the portal.
The portal is a digital platform operated by the Finance Department of the West Bengal government. It was introduced to make the state’s financial management system more transparent, efficient and faster through online processes.
Through this portal, government employees can access important information such as salary details, pay slips, leave records, service books and transfer-related data. The platform is also used for distributing funds to various government departments.
In addition, payments to beneficiaries, contractors and employees are processed directly to their bank accounts through the system. The portal also allows government offices to submit bills online and track their status.

Retired employees can access pension-related information and updates through the platform as well. As the portal is primarily used by government employees, the sudden technical issue has created inconvenience across several departments. A section of employees reported that the system has been inaccessible since Friday morning.
According to one official, “All departments' account sections work through this portal. We are facing considerable inconvenience.”
