Rising drone and missile threats
The latest explosion comes as tensions remain high across the Gulf region. Since the war began, the United Arab Emirates said its air defence systems have intercepted more than 1,500 Iranian drones and nearly 300 missiles, Hindustan Times reported.
Several locations in Dubai have been targeted during the conflict. These include Dubai International Airport, Palm Jumeirah, and the iconic Burj Al Arab.
On March 12, a drone fell near Dubai's financial district, prompting companies in the area to evacuate employees as a precaution.
Earlier, on March 13, authorities reported a minor fire in central Dubai after an aerial interception. Officials later confirmed that the fire was caused by falling shrapnel and that no injuries were recorded.
Attacks across the Gulf region
Iran has continued to target oil-rich Gulf countries following joint strikes by the United States and Israel on Iranian territory. The attacks have increased security concerns across the region.
