Record-breaking second weekend fuels surge
After a strong opening week that saw the film cross ₹1000 crore globally, Dhurandhar 2 maintained its momentum into the second weekend.
The film collected ₹41.75 crore on its second Friday, followed by a sharp jump to ₹62.85 crore on Saturday and ₹68 crore on Sunday which is the highest second Sunday ever for an Indian film.
This pushed its domestic total to ₹847 crore net (₹1012 crore gross) within 11 days. In doing so, the film surpassed the ₹840 crore domestic benchmark set by the first instalment, marking the highest domestic collection for a Hindi film to date.
Overseas performance sets new benchmarks
The film’s international performance has been equally strong. After opening with $7 million, Dhurandhar 2 collected over $22 million in its first weekend overseas.
A renewed surge during the second weekend helped the film add nearly $3 million on Sunday alone, taking its overseas total to around $38 million. With this, the film has now become the highest-grossing Indian film in North America, overtaking the long-standing record of Baahubali 2: The Conclusion.
Surpasses Dhurandhar, eyes bigger milestones
Globally, the film now stands at ₹1365 crore gross, overtaking the ₹1307 crore lifetime total of Dhurandhar.
It currently trails only three Indian blockbusters including Dangal, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion and Pushpa 2: The Rule, on the all-time global charts.
Trade analysts believe that if the trend continues, the movie may even cross the mark of ₹2000 crores and go even higher in the rankings.
The movie features an ensemble cast of R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, and Sanjay Dutt, which is likely to build on the momentum of the first movie that is still running in theaters even months after release.
Given its scale, pace, and continued box office performance, Dhurandhar 2 is shaping up to be one of the fastest-growing box office successes in Indian cinema.
