Caitlin Clark’s first outing in a Team USA uniform has shown exactly why she has become one of the most talked-about playmakers in basketball.
The Indiana Fever star controlled the tempo and dictated the flow of the game as the United States cruised to a commanding 110–46 victory over Senegal on Wednesday. Clark finished the contest with 17 points while shooting an efficient 4-of-5 from the field.
The rookie guard dished out 12 assists, carving open the Senegal defence repeatedly with quick reads and precise deliveries. Her 12 assists now stand as the second-highest single-game assist tally in the history of the qualifying tournament. Only China’s Siyu Wang has recorded more, finishing with 15 assists against France in 2022.

Clark’s most catchy sequences came in the third quarter when she threaded a pass to Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese for a difficult finish at the rim.
Internet can't stay calm
With 4:40 remaining before halftime, Clark spotted Kiki Iriafen cutting underneath the basket. Without hesitation, she fired a sharp pass through traffic that reached Iriafen perfectly for an easy layup.

“When other players are double-teamed, triple-teamed, blitzed, or picked up full court, they fold like a chair. Caitlin Clark thrives in this environment; the WNBA has conditioned her for these scenarios,” a commenter wrote.
“The look on 21's face and whatever she was saying is priceless,” another commented.
One supporter shared, “CC knew where that ball was going before she even caught it.”
