The situation worsened after a major security lapse at a team hotel in Lahore. Lahore Police DIG Mohammad Faisal formally alerted PSL authorities about breaches involving Lahore Qalandars players. Reports allege that Shaheen Shah Afridi and Sikandar Raza allowed unauthorised individuals into secured areas, violating strict protocols. The PCB is now considering disciplinary action against the franchise management, viewing the incident as a serious violation, especially amid heightened security arrangements.
